• Toluene is one of the most common chemical compounds or solvents, able to dissolve paints, many chemical reactants, rubber, paint thinners, silicone sealants, printing ink, lacquers, leather tanners, adhesives (glues), and disinfectants.
• This solvent can be also used as a fullerene indicator, and is a raw material for toluene diisocyanate, which is used in polyurethane foam and TNT. Additionally, it is used as a chemical solvent for carbon nanotubes such as fullerenes.
